Here is a file containing the four amazing films made by homeschoolers at yesterday's claymation workshop at the NFB. Note: Apple Quicktime required (http://apple.com/quicktime/)
We have created a new section on this website for photos (see the menu on the upper right), where you will find pictures of the people, projects and events of our group. The area is visible to members only.
If you have any pictures to share, please forward them to me.
Here are the plans so far for the Christmas party next week. Feel free to take part... You can sign up for the items in bold using the Comments feature. Other suggestions are always welcome!
The Montreal Homelearners have started practicing some songs with a plan to go Christmas caroling for the first part of our Christmas party on December 18th!
Lots of details are still to be worked out, but we are imagining going out for an hour or so during the late afternoon on St-Laurent street (starting from the Baha'i Centre) and collecting some money for charity.
For Thursday's party we are expecting 15 to 20 adults and 30 to 40 kids!
Here are the last minute details on who will bring what and how it might all go:
This group had its first meeting one year ago today. Thanks to everyone for helping to make it such a success so far!
Here's a recap of what we've done since last October...
For the first few months we just had parents meetings, but then we started doing kids activities too. Now we are starting to tap into different skills and talents within the group and organize ongoing classes and workshops as well. Needless to say, we've been busy!
We are planning a Halloween party on October 30th in the evening. Details will be announced as soon as they are all worked out...
Meanwhile, we will make a pinata and some decorations for the party during our Thursday gatherings at the Baha'i Centre. Here are the plans so far - (feel free to add your ideas and plans by using the comment feature):
Tomorrow's weather forecast (chance of rain and a high of 12'C) has me happy that we'll be hanging out indoors at the MAI! That's 3680 Jeanne Mance, room 428.
For our first gathering in this space, I guess we'll play and do as usual, and also make some plans for future Thursdays. I'll bring a pen, paper and calendar, and everyone can bring their ideas!
You can also bring toys and games, as well as food and drink. There is a sound system so feel free to bring some CDs as well. We can leave a bin of stuff there.
There is an article about homeschooling and technology, including this website (!), in this month's Montreal Families magazine. Check it out here.
Many thanks to Kyla for contributing!
