Although I feel true creativity transcends everything,it's difficult to develop into the person you are,if you are told from the beginning you are wrong.
I don't believe schools set out to be these bad places,but inevitably morph into these cold institutions,regardless of their intent.Extinguishing all signs of creativity along the way.
I myself was advised not to follow my interests (psychology, philosophy and Buddhism) at the university level because they weren't going to make me super-employable. Computer science was suggested. Or at least Sciences, to keep all doors open, as though I could always "fall back" on some "lesser" subject if I needed to...

Very interesting and quite funny.
