My Name is Jane and I have 2 girls, a 4 year old and a 17 month old. We came to the not-back-to-school picnic at Beaver Lake last summer, and met many kind people but I really had my hands full with the girls that day and did not get to chat very much. I look forward to becoming more involved with this group and Communidée in the near future. It seems like an amazing resource and full of wonderful inspiring families.
We moved here from the States a few years ago, lived in Brossard for a year, and have lived in Westmount since then. It's a beautiful neighborhood with lovely parks and nice people, but it is sometimes alienating to be such a rarity not sending my 4 year old to preschool and constantly being questioned about that choice. Or worse, SHE is often questioned, "Why aren't you in school?" Those questions started over a year ago. Maybe this problem isn't unique to Westmount?
I am really interested in Waldorf homeschooling (possibly using the Cristopherus Curriculum), but for now they are very little and we are enjoying home and life and walks to the park.
Hi Jane
I remember you from the NBTS picnic last fall - busy with young kids. My boys (4.5 & 2.5) are getting old enough to give me a bit of chatting time, but with lots of interruptions...
I'm glad that you're planning to join us soon : ) There are lots of families with young kids, and lots of them live in your area (NDG mostly).
A bientot,
Sonya
