Hi,
We'll be moving to Montreal next year and are very excited to find this group. We are presently living in Los Angeles, California and should arrive at the end of January/beginning of February.
The kids are Kelly, girl, 9, and Alexander, almost 6, and we have always homeschooled. This will be our second extended trip away from home as we spent 9 months in Beijing, China in 2008.
We have some flexibility in choosing where we live and I'd love any suggestions. I'm not planning on bringing a car, so a pedestrian-friendly area with access to public transportation is preferred. We'd like to learn French during our stay, so a predominantly French-speaking area would be nice. We'd also like to immerse ourselves in the culture, so we'd rather live in an older area of the city. We're used to living in close quarters, so we do not require an area with large houses and yards, but a safe park nearby would be lovely.
Thank you for any advice you can offer. We're looking forward to meeting everyone next year.
Jackie
