LTS: Classification of animals

11/30/2010 - 13:00
11/30/2010 - 15:00

Offered by: McGill students Sarah and Justine

Come and join us for a Let's Talk Science presentation on the classification of animals!  We thought we would start by discussing why do we classify animals, and perhaps a little history on taxonomy. We would then discuss the heirarchy of classifiction from kingdom to species and then get into specifics of the animal classes: mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, etc.  We would talk about what makes a mammal a mammal (fur, live babies, etc).  If time allows, we thought that we could do a game or a craft where you can make an animal mask out of paper plates.

When: Tuesday Nov 30, starting at 1pm

Where: Room 129 at Centre Communidée

Language: English with translation when needed
