10/04/2009 - 17:00

Workshop with the the scientific folders from Concordia University's Biochemistry lab.

Led by Professor Louis Cuccia, and inspired by origami, this group researches the fundamental
principles involved with molecular and macromolecular 'folding'.  Join them in the Hodgson Seminar Room 200 to learn how to make some of their favourite scientific folds such as the parabola and leaf.

After the folding session watch the 2008 documentary film "Between the Folds" which tells the stories of ten origami scientists who have devoted their lives to folding paper, including physicist Robert J. Lang who created the full-sized origami Pteranodon that glides above the Redpath Museum’s dinosaur skeleton.

FREE, everyone welcome, no reservations necessary.  In English with some French folding instruction.
