09/23/2009 - 12:00

Wednesday September 23rd from 11am to 12pm at the Redpath Museum (see map below).

The Redpath Museum has a bunch of stuff for kids big and small. They hold extensive collections in the fields of paleontology, zoology, minerology and ethnology, and have lots of indoor stairs to play on for the little ones. Entrance to the museum is free, but the workshop will cost $6 per child.

DINOSAURS OF CANADA (in English, given by the wonderful Ingrid, who gave the volcanoes workshop) - for all ages. Uncover the dinosaurs that roamed Canada 60 million years ago.  Craft for kids as young as 3: make a dinosaur footprint fridge magnet.

Show up anytime between 10 and 11am to tour the museum and meet other homeschoolers. We should be able to find each other quite easily, as the museum is not that big.

The workshop is from 11am to 12pm, so meet in the front foyer a bit before 11am.

The cost is $6 per child who does the craft, parents and babies are free. Please pay Sonya on the day of, preferably in exact change : )

Registration necessary - maximum 20 kids for the craft - sign up below or by contacting Sonya or (514) 845-5421.

Afterwards, we can have lunch together at a nearby cafeteria - in the Shatner building, 2nd floor. You can bring your lunch or buy something there.

Everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there!

Getting there:

The Redpath museum is on McGill campus - see the map below. From the Roddick Gates (on Sherbrooke and McGill College) head up the main drive and bear left at your first opportunity. The museum is the first building on your right. There are lots of stairs outside. Once inside, there is a place to your right where you can leave your coats, bags, strollers, etc.

Parking: on campus rates are $3.95/hour with a maximum of $16/day, and the closest meter spots are on McTavish or Sherbrooke.
