Science Fair for homeschooled children

Posted by Bogusia:

Two experienced science teachers along with Community Schooling would like to offer a Homeschool Science Fair.  This would be an event for homeschooled children from all around Montreal, where they enter science projects and others (parents and children alike) are able to see them and marvel at their discoveries.  Also, the students would be judged by science fair judges (mostly volunteers) and would get feedback on their science experiments.  The winners could be entered into the Montreal Wide Science Fair, competing against students with the best science fair projects from all around Montreal.

Students can enter from all ages (elementary, junior and senior high levels) and all science topics, individually or in groups of two.  If there is enough interest, the science fair would be held in early 2009 (Late January or Early February).  Also, guidelines and guidance would be provided by the Community Schooling science teachers (Bogusia Gierus and Karen Commerford).  There would be an entry fee to cover the expenses.

If your child is interested in participating in the Science Fair, please email me bogusia@communityschooling.com
or call at 514-891-0789.
If there is enough interest, I will be sending out a more detailed follow up email about the Homeschool Science Fair.

Cheers,

Bogusia Gierus

This sounds interesting

This sounds interesting although I would need more information particularly regarding the judging of the children's efforts and ideas. My children love Science fairs and would like the chance to participate.
