Thursday gathering

So it looks like we have found a space for our Thursday gatherings! - the Baha'i Centre at 177 des Pins Est.

All homeschooling families are welcome to join us to eat, talk, play, make plans and do projects together.  There are French and English families, kids and babies of all ages, and all styles of homeschooling.  While religious families are welcome to join us, our gatherings are entirely secular.

We meet from 11am to 3pm.  The room is on the ground floor (easily accessible to strollers), with a stage, a piano, and a screen with DVD player.  There are tables and chairs, and a little kitchen with possibilities for tea and coffee, and a sink for clean ups.  And if the weather is particularly nice, DeBullion park is just a half block away.

While we are not being charged any money for the use of this amazing space, the Baha'i Centre does have a box for voluntary donations.

Getting there: (see map below)

Public transit: It's about a 10 minute walk from Sherbrooke metro (orange line), or you can jump on the bus #144 West along des Pins.  If you are on the green line, it is also walkable from St-Laurent metro, or you can jump on the bus #55 North up St-Laurent.

Driving:  Parking in the area isn't too bad.  By the time we get there, the street cleaners have already passed, and some areas reserved for permit holders are open to everyone until 3pm.

So bring your lunches and some toys or games or things to show and tell.  Most of the time is completely unstructured, but we will often spend some time on a planned activity or project.

Today October 16th we will be making decorations for our Halloween party on October 30th.  See this link for details.

Hope to see you there!
