yoga for kids

hi everybody!

i am wondering if i started a kids' yoga class in the fall, right near verdun metro (centre communautaire marcel-giroulx), how many of you would be interested in attending? i would like to do it "drop-in" meaning there is no need to sign up and commit to a bunch of classes, (i like that approach in big people yoga - ie. happy tree near atwater metro) but having an idea of how many are interested would help me find out if it would be worthwhile to rent a spot.

i was thinking of charging 5 dollars per child for a 1 hour class.
i haven't reserved the space yet, but i was thinking wednesday, thursday or friday, either in the morning or in the afternoon. If you have a preference, please let me know! we'll see what we can do!
it would be geared for kids age 2 to 5, but older kids can have fun too.
we can call it family yoga :)) a time to "be", together, and have fun.

looking forward to your replies

I'm really interested as

I'm really interested as well! I have 2 kiddos, one is only 18 months, and the other will be 4 soon. Late mornings are always best for us, and would like to keep Thursday free as someone else had already mentioned.

another option

another thing that we can do is "travelling yoga".. with a level of consistency in occurence, but always on the fly - at the gym (like where sonya was rounding up the friends at one point), the baha'i centre (which likes to open its doors to the greater community), other centres we may find, someone's living room if it happens to be big, wherever the wind happens to blow over the course of the winter.
money contribution would be according to each's discretion.

and we can yoga in the parc till the snow falls, in spring the grass might be smushy but this would make renting a space in september not necessary at all :)

this could be less complicated and more fun.

thanks for giving me a space to think "out loud" !

rachel

ps. regardless of all this, if some of you want a stable setting, leah, the lady with whom we did yoga in jeanne-mance parc, might be giving kiddie yoga classes at the studio on fairmount (between parc and st-laurent). if so it would start in september.

yoga for kids

We're very interested, thanks Rachel! 3 kids, happy to meet up anywhere. We like keeping Thursdays open for Montreal H'learners park days, but either Wednesdays or Fridays work well for us for yoga.

lyrics to the unity song

we are drops (we are drops)
of one ocean (of one ocean)
we are leaves (we are leaves)
of one tree (of one tree)
come and join us (come and join us)
in our quest for unity
it's a way of life for you and me

all of earth is (all of earth is)
but one country (but one country)
man is one (man is one)
can't you see (can't you see)
come and join us (come and join us)
in our quest for unity
it's a way of life for you and me
